Fitness Column 8 - Exercising with others!

Studies show that we’re 60% more likely to reach a goal when training with someone. It’s that added encouragement when exercising, the messages during the day reminiscing on the night before and it’s the added kick up the butt when you’re not feeling it.

Having a plan when exercising is very important but can be hard to maintain and re-adjust with a busy life, so why not let someone else do the planning for you, all you have to do is turn up!

Class based exercises and group exercises really are a winner when it comes to encouragement, drive and focus. Most of the time the hardest thing to do is get off the sofa and head to your workout! Not only will you work harder in an exercise environment, but you’ll also make friends and have a great social with likeminded people as well.

Everyone likes to be active

Well, at least they should do! Here’s an easy 15 minute, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout for you to do at home if you need a bit of a push.

Do each exercise 3 times before moving to the next exercise.

Work each movement for 30 seconds then rest for 30 seconds.

Steady warm up (3-4 mins just to loosen the body of tensions and warm the muscles up)

Running high knees

Push ups

Squats

Crunches

Front punches

What’s important to remember is that you GIVE IT YOUR ALL for the 30 seconds of work. Push yourself to your limits, work hard and you’ll get results. You’ll become stronger, more agile, efficient and fitter with time, keep consistent, become a better version of yourself.
